By Keaton Laurendine
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida State beach volleyball team completed a perfect sweep on Friday at the Dueling Dolphins tournament in Jacksonville, Florida. The Noles played Coastal Carolina, UNF, and Jacksonville, defeating each 5-0 in each duel.
The day began with a perfect 5-0 sweep against Coastal Carolina, where the Seminoles didn't drop a set against the Chanticleers. The duel was headlined by outstanding play by the likes of CCSA Preseason Player of the Year, Maddie Anderson, and CCSA Preseason All-Conference team members, Alexis Durish and Anna Long.
Following the first sweep, Florida State continued their momentum by beating UNF, dropping only two sets in six matches. The duel was decided by a third-set thriller, which saw Skyler Germann and Madison Binkley emerge victorious, 16-14.
The Seminoles capped off their near-perfect day with a perfect match against Jacksonville, not dropping a single set to the dolphins. The dominance by the Noles was more of the same seen prior to the match, but with a new face to the Florida State program in graduate student Taylor Head.
