Parra Romero and Bissett Shine At ITA All-American Championships.
CARY, N.C. - Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Millie Bissett shined at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina.
The 34th-ranked duo kicked off the qualifying doubles round of 32 with a 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (5) win over the No. 51 pair of Anet Koskel and Grace O'Donnell from Arkansas on Monday.
Parra Romero and Bissett continued their success with a 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (3) victory over Lindsay Zink and Susanna Maltby of North Carolina in the qualifying round of 16. This win helped the pair advance into the main draw play.
The pair secured their third tournament win with a 7-6 (6), 0-6, 1-0 (7) win over No. 23 Elza Tomase and Catherine Aulia of Tennessee on Wednesday.
The duo concluded their tournament play with a 3-6, 3-6 loss to No. 19 Connie Ma and Alexis Blokhina of Standford in the main draw round of 16.
Parra Romero was also able to secure her first singles victory as a Seminole as she defeated Valeria Ray of Vanderbilt 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the qualifying round of 64.

Seminoles Secure 13 Wins At ITA Southeast Regional Championships.
ATLANTA, Ga. - The Florida State women's tennis team secured 13 wins at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Atlanta this week.
Cade Cricchio kicked off the weekend with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (5) win over Pragnya Kumar of Georgia State in the qualifying singles round of 32.
The 34th-ranked duo of Millie Bissett and Maria Juliana Parra Romero secured two victories in doubles and advanced to the quarterfinals in the doubles main draw. The pair won 8-1 over Sofia Madrid and Ema Barianakova of Kennesaw State in the doubles main draw round of 32 and 8-1 over Anja Draskovic and Oyinlomo Quandre of FIU in the round of 16. Bissett and Parra Romero both added two wins in singles on the weekend.
Mary Boyce Deatherage notched her first win as a Seminole, winning 6-3, 6-2 over Sarah Branicki of Georgia in the qualifying singles round of 32. Deatherage went on to win 6-1, 6-1 over Josefine Falster of USF in the main draw singles round of 64.
Sophomore Maelie Monfils and junior Tina Li secured an 8-5 win over Juliette Nask and Franziska Heinemann of Georgia State in the doubles round of 32. Monfils also defeated Maria Paula Vargas of Miami 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7) in the consolation singles round of 32. Li also won 4-6, 3-3 (retired) over Aryana Bartlett from UNF in consolation singles.
The 98th-ranked Kristyna Lavickova secured a 6-1, 6-4 win over Alanna Di Francesco of Stetson in the main draw singles round of 64.

Florida State Dominates At UNF Invitational.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida State women's tennis team dominated at the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville this weekend, securing two singles flights wins and one doubles crown.
Mary Boyce Deatherage and Maelie Monfils were undefeated in singles on the weekend and were champions of their singles flights. Cade Cricchio and Tina Li were perfect in doubles and won their flight.
Deatherage kicked off the weekend with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Hannah Rylatt of UCF and then earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Charlotte Ruud of USF in the semifinals. Deatherage capped the weekend winning 7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-3 over the former fifth-ranked world junior player Nikola Daubnerova of Florida in the Flight A finals.
Monfils earned three straight-sets wins on the weekend winning 6-1, 6-1 over Nicole Alfaro of UNF, 6-3, 6-4 over Josefine Falster of USF, and 6-4, 6-1 over Lucia Aranda of UNC Charlotte the Flight B finals to defend her title from 2023.
Li and Cricchio earned a 6-1 win over Hannah Chambers and Angelina Blinova of Southern Mississippi in the quarterfinals of the Flight 2 doubles. The duo continued their dominance with a 6-4 win over Magdalena Swierzynska and Marina Fuduric of Indiana in the semifinals. The pair finished the weekend with a 6-2 win over Lucia Aranda and Prisca Abbas of Charlotte to claim the Flight 2 doubles title.
Cricchio earned two singles wins on the weekend as she defeated Angelina Blinova of Southern Mississippi 7-5, 6-4 and Linda Ziets Segura of Virginia Tech. Li secured a 7-6 (2), 6-0 over Noemie Oliveras of Florida.
Deatherage and Monfils won two doubles matches over the weekend. The duo won 6-4 over Mila Mulreadyand Linda Segura Ziets of Virginia Tech and 6-1 against Ni Xi and Shona Nakano.

Parra Romero and Bissett Secure One Win At The ITA Conference Masters Championships.
MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Juliana Parra Romero and Millie Bissett of the Florida State women's tennis team secured one win at the ITA Conference Masters Championship.
The 34th-ranked pair won 6-2, 6-3 over Laia Giralt and Manuela of Siena College in the consolation round of 16.
This win brings the duo's win total to sixth with two of their wins coming against nationally ranked opponents.
The duo fell short in the main draw Zdena Safarova and Maya Dutta of Boise State in the main draw round of 16.

No. 24 Seminoles Battle At Florida Invitational.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 24 Florida State women's tennis team saw a lot of success at the Florida Invitational over the weekend. The hidden dual included various singles and doubles matches between No. 19 Florida and USF. During the two-day competition, FSU collected 11 total wins, seven via singles; and four from doubles.
FSU captured two doubles victories on Saturday. Eva Shaw and Maria Juliana Parra Romero earned a doubles victory early, defeating Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Nikola Daubernova of Florida 6-1. Laura Putz and Millie Bissett defeated Bente Spee and Noemie Oliveras of Florida 6-3.
Saturday singles featured five Seminole wins. Mary Boyce Deatherage won in a three-set battle, defeating Melisa Senli of USF 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7). Putz defeated Charlotte Ruud of USF in another three-set battle 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8). Maelie Monfils won in three sets defeating Sienna Leeson of USF 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (7). Tina Li earned a straight-sets victory over Dharani Niroshan of USF 6-3, 6-0. Cade Cricchio rounded out singles by defeating Gargi Pawar of USF 6-4, 6-3.
The Seminoles matched their doubles wins Sunday morning, picking up two more. Monfils and Kristyna Lavickova defeated Dudeney and Neilson-Gatenby of Florida 6-1. Putz and Deatherage defeated Leeson and Ruud of USF 7-5. Putz finishes the weekend 2-0 in doubles.
The final round of singles concluded with two more Seminole wins. Li def Pawar of USF 6-1, 6-2, and Deatherage def. Margherita Marcon of USF 6-4, 6-4. Both Li, and Deatherage finished 2-0 in singles on the weekend.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 24 Florida State women's tennis team (2-0) defeated Alabama State (0-2) 4-0 in both matches of the season-opening doubleheader on Sunday. The Seminoles won their season-opening match for a 15th consecutive season.
Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Eva Shaw began the day with a ranked victory sweeping No. 117 Melisa Mekic and Diana Craciun 6-0 on Court 1, improving their doubles record to 2-0 this spring. Laura Putz and Maelie Monfils clinched the doubles point on Court 3 defeating Carmelle Vial and Cleanna Pickel 6-2.
The Seminoles dominated singles play, winning the first set on all six courts. Monfils clinched the first singles point with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Pickel on Court 5. Shaw won her first singles match of the season in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 on Court 2. The match was clinched by freshman Mary Boyce Deatherage, defeating Vial 6-1, 6-1 in her first career dual match.

After a loss on Court 3, all eyes were on Court 2 as Millie Bissett and Laura Putz battled back from being down 2-5, to clinch the doubles point defeating Maria Paredes and Francesca Miglio of Georgia State 7-6 (6).

Seminoles Sweep South Florida.
TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida State women's tennis team (6-1) defeated USF (1-7) 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts in Tampa.
FSU began the afternoon strong on the doubles courts, obtaining multiple-game leads on all three. Laura Putz and Millie Bissett earned the first Seminole victory of the day, defeating Dharani Niroshan and Melisa Senli 6-1 on Court 2. Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Eva Shaw followed suit on Court 1 defeating Sienna Leeson and Charlotte Ruud 6-2 to clinch the doubles point for the Noles.
In singles, No. 119 Mary Boyce Deatherage began the day down 1-4 in the opening set. Deatherage rattled off 11 straight games to earn a 6-4, 6-0 straight-sets victory and capture FSU's first singles point on Court 3. Parra Romero earned a straight-sets victory on Court 4 defeating Kelly Vargas 6-2, 7-5. Tina Li clinched the match for the Noles by defeating Karine Kulidjian 7-5, 6-3.
Deatherage improved to 6-0 this spring and 11-1 overall this season to begin her freshman campaign. Florida State has continued to impress in doubles, with two pairs currently undefeated this spring. Bissett and Putz improved to 5-0 on Court 2, while Parra Romero and Shaw improved to 6-0 from Court 1.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's tennis team (8-1) defeated both Air Force (4-6) and Florida A&M (0-6) Sunday afternoon at the FSU Indoor Tennis Courts. The Seminoles won both matches 4-0 and extended their active winning streak to six straight matches.
Match one began with FSU securing a quick doubles win courtesy of Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Eva Shaw by a score of 6-1 over Nadia Kojonroj and Arianna Van Houwelin of Air Force. The doubles point was clinched for the Noles by Tina Li and Maelie Monfils defeating Sofia Mavor and Shivaani Selvan of Air Force 6-3 on Court 3.

Seminoles Defeat Buccaneers on the Road.
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Florida State women's tennis team (9-1) defeated Charleston Southern (4-3) 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Saturday began with doubles victories on both Courts 2 and 3 for the Noles. Maelie Monfils and Tina Li won their third match of the season together defeating Brenda Yoris and Emmie Moore 6-2. FSU captured the doubles point on Court 3 with the first-time pairing of Cade Cricchio and Maria Juliana Parra Romero defeating Kassandra Di Staulo and Marina Skegro 6-1. Florida State has won the doubles point in all 10 matches they have played this season.
No. 125 Mary Boyce Deatherage earned FSU's first singles point early on Court 2, defeating Noa Boyd 6-1, 6-2. On Court 5 Li earned a straight-sets victory defeating Carle Botha 6-3, 6-2. Li trailed the opening set 2-3 and went on to win 10 of the next 12 games. Laura Putz clinched the match for FSU defeating Amila Jusufbegovic 7-5, 6-1 on Court 4. With singles being played through, on Courts 1, 3, and 6 the Noles went to three sets earning victories on Courts 1 and 5. Monfils rallied back after being down a set to win the match, defeating Di Staulo 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 on Court 5. Millie Bissett earned his first Court 1 victory of the season defeating Moore 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
The Seminoles have now extended their winning streak to seven consecutive matches, tied for third all-time in the program's history and their longest since 2021. Deatherage improved to 13-1 this season and has won 11 consecutive singles matches, placing her top 20 all-time in school history. Parra Ramero continues to shine on the doubles court, winning her ninth consecutive match in a row.

Seminoles Victorious in Conference Opener.
WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The Florida State women's tennis team (10-1, 1-0 ACC) defeated Boston College (4-8, 0-3) 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Florida State has now won eight consecutive matches, tied for the second-longest streak in school history.
FSU found itself down on the doubles courts early. No. 86-ranked Eva Shaw and Maria Juliana Parra Romero began their match down 2-1 before rallying back to win the next five games, defeating Tola Glowacka and Alex Torre 6-2 on Court 1. Millie Bissett and Laura Putz were down 4-3 and went on to win their next three games, defeating Seren Agar and Natalie Eordekian 6-4, and clinching the doubles point for Florida State. Maelie Monfils and Tina Li wrapped up the doubles session on Court 3, defeating Olivia Benton and Nadia Dimovska 6-3.
Bissett captured the first singles point for FSU, defeating Eordekian 6-2, 6-0 on Court 2. Parra Romero earned a straight-sets victory on Court 4, defeating Muskan Mahajan 6-4, 6-1. Seminoles' Comeback Falls Short at Syracuse.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State women's tennis team (10-2, 1-1 ACC) fell to No. 45 Syracuse (8-3, 1-3) 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, New York.
FSU surrendered its first doubles point of the season Sunday, with Syracuse earning doubles victories on Courts 2 and 3 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Eva Shaw earned a straight-sets victory in the first singles match completed, defeating Miyuka Kimoto 6-3, 7-5 on Court 1 to tie the match. No. 125 Mary Boyce Deatherage defeated Anastasia Sysoeva in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to give the Noles the lead. The Orange earned two victories from Courts 4 and 6 to take a 3-2 advantage. Laura Putz defeated Shiori Ito in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 to tie the match at 3-3 before Syracuse clinched the match on Court 2.

Florida State started the afternoon strong, dominating on the doubles courts. The Noles were up 5-1 on all three courts before securing the doubles point from Courts 1 and 3. The No. 84-ranked pair in the nation, Eva Shaw and Maria Juliana Parra Romero, defeated Alice Otis and Elisabeth Iila 6-1, extending their doubles winning streak to nine straight matches. Florida State began the match by capturing the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 2. Millie Bissett and Kristyna Lavickova started the match down 3-0 before winning six of the next seven games, earning a 6-4 victory on Court 2. Seminoles Win Thriller vs. No. 50 Miami.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's tennis team (11-4, 2-3 ACC) defeated No. 50 Miami (8-6, 3-2) 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.
Florida State started the match with the lead on all three doubles courts. Laura Putz and Maelie Monfils won the first match of the afternoon, defeating Jaquelyn Ogunwale and Aely Arai 6-1 on Court 3. Putz and Monfils improved to 4-0 with their victory, including a 3-0 record in ACC play. With a deadlocked match on Court 2, No. 89-ranked Eva Shaw and Maria Juliana Parra Romero took control on Court 1. The pair clinched the doubles point for FSU, defeating No. 25 Xinyi Nong and Raquel Gonzalez 6-2. It was the duo's highest-ranked win of the season and improved their record to 11-0 this spring. Shaw and Parra Romero's 11-match winning streak is the sixth-longest streak in FSU history.

Doubles began with SMU earning a victory on Court 2. No. 89-ranked Eva Shaw and Maria Parra Romero found themselves down 5-3, after taking an early 3-2 advantage. The pair battled back, winning four of the next five games to defeat Sophia Llewellyn and Caroline McGinley 7-6 (3) on Court 1. The final doubles court came down to another 6-6 tiebreak. With a 5-5 tie, Laura Putz and Maelie Monfils won the next two points to win the match 7-6 (5) and clinch the doubles point for the Seminoles.
The Mustangs won the first three singles matches of the evening on Courts 2, 3, and 4 to take a 3-1 lead. Parra Romero began to swing the momentum the Seminoles way earning a straight sets victory on Court 5, defeating Schefke 6-4, 6-4. After dropping the opening set on both Courts 1 and 6, Shaw and Putz both won their second sets to extend the match. No. 112-ranked Shaw defeated Llewellyn 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Court 1 to tie the match 3-3. On Court 6 Laura Putz won 12 of the next 16 games to defeat McGinley and clinch the match for Florida State.
Shaw and Parra Romero are now one win shy of tying the school record for consecutive doubles wins at 13. The pair improved their record to 12-0 this season, including a 5-0 record in ACC play. Putz and Monfils continue to find success from Court 3, winning their fourth consecutive match and improving their record to 4-0.
Shaw continues to shine in ACC singles play, improving her conference record to 5-1 from the Court 1 position. Parra Romero won her third match of the season at Court 5 and is currently on a three-match win streak. Putz has now won two in a row from Court 6 and improved to 7-2 overall this season.
