Beach Volleyball Earns Three All-Conference Honors. April 27, 2022 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 2 seeded Florida State Seminoles head to the CCSA
Championships this weekend with an All-Conference pair and an All-Freshman Team member. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer are the eighth pair in school history to earn All-Conference and Anna Long is
the sixth Seminole to earn a spot on the All-Freshman Team. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer All-Conference Anderson and Bauer boast a 23-8 overall record on the season and a 7-1 record in
conference play with all but one match on court one. The pair's only conference loss was to TCU on March 26th in Baton Rouge. 16 of their overall wins were against top-20 teams, nine of which were
top-10. The pair earned CCSA Pair of the Week on March 23rd following a 4-0 weekend against No. 1 UCLA, No. 7 Grand Canyon, No. 15 South Carolina, and No. 20 Tulane. They also earned AVCA Pair of
the Week on April 11th following a 5-0 weekend against TAMUCC, No. 5 LSU, No. 2 TCU, No. 15 FIU, and No. 19 Stetson. Anna Long All-Freshman Anna Long is 15-7 this season and 4-1 in
conference as a true freshman from Lakeside Park, Kentucky. Long has competed on courts three, four, and five with partners Jordan Polo and Kate Privett. Long's record from this year features 10
top-20 wins. Her only conference loss was to LSU on April 8th at home. Most of her matches were on court four where she has a 10-5 record. Long has proven herself throughout the season, becoming a
consistent presence in the starting lineup. April 28, 2022 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Maddie Anderson and Brook
Bauer are the 15th and 16th Seminoles to earn an All-American honor and the seventh pair to be named to the First Team. Anderson and Bauer were just named on the CCSA All-Conference team yesterday,
becoming the eighth pair to do so in FSU history. The pair has a 23-8 overall record on the season and a 7-1 record in conference play with all but one match on court one. The pair's only
conference loss was to TCU on March 26th in Baton Rouge. 16 of their wins were against top-20 teams, nine of which were in the top-10. The pair earned CCSA Pair of the Week on March 23rd following

winning percentage of .741 and a .889 winning percentage at home. This is Anderson's first All-American title and Bauer's first as a Seminole. Bauer was previously named an All-American in 2019 at
Pepperdine.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The number three ranked Florida State Seminoles started off their annual FSU Beach Bash with a 2-0 record defeating UAB and No. 8 Cal Poly. The Seminoles went unbeaten in every set played today. The Seminoles move to 11-0 all-time against UAB and 6-0 against Cal Poly.
Florida State 5, Alabama-Birmingham 0
The Seminoles came out ready for their first dual of the season, winning every set against UAB. The Seminoles spared no time winning the first set on all courts.
Courts one through three dominated, refusing to allow UAB to take the lead in either set. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer won set one 21-16 and set two 21-18 on court one. Keara Rutz and Morgan Chacon won 21-16 and 21-17 on court two. Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick also defeated UAB 21-12 and 21-14.
On court four, Anna Long and Jordan Polo won the first set easily 21-14. In the second set, the duo came back from a set-long deficit, winning 23-21.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The number three ranked Florida State Seminoles started their season 4-0 after defeating two ranked teams at their annual Beach Bash tournament. On Sunday, Feb 27, the Noles defeated No. 13 FAU 4-1 and Tampa 5-0.
Florida State improved their all-time opening weekend record to 37-3 and their home record to 60-3.
FSU 4, FAU 1
The Seminoles extend their win streak over FAU to 14-0 all-time. The first match point came from court four by the duo of Anna Long and Jordan Polo. The pair won two quick sets against the Owls 21-12 and 21-17.
Court five competed at a pace similarly to court four, earning the second match point for the Seminoles. Raelyn White and Kate Privett defeated the FAU pair 21-13 and 21-18.
The match-clinching point was earned by Morgan Chacon and Liz Waters-Leiga on court two. Waters-Leiga entered the starting lineup for the first time this season in a dominating performance over the Owls 21-15 and 21-19.
Even though the match was already won, court one and three went to three sets. On court three, Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick came from behind to beat FAU 15-9 in the third set after giving up the first set 21-18.
On court one, Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer provided plenty of entertainment with three close sets. The first set went in favor of FSU 20-22 after alternating the lead many times. The final match of the tournament provided FSU with another 5-0 win, this time against Tampa. The Seminoles improved their all-time record to 4-0 and has yet to allow Tampa to win a match point.

FORTH WORTH, Texas - The No. 3 ranked Florida State Seminoles (6-0) started week two with wins over Central Arkansas (3-3) 5-0 and No. 19 Georgia State (1-3) 4-1. The Seminoles improved their record to 6-0, which is currently their fourth-best start to a season.
FSU 5, Central Arkansas 0
The Seminoles started off the weekend with a 5-0 win over Central Arkansas. This was the first time that the two teams have competed against each other. Three Seminoles earned their first career wins in today's match.
Court four earned the first match point against UCA. Makenna Wolfe earned the first win of her career with partner Jordan Polo, beating UCA 22-20 and 21-15.
Kate Privett and Cassie Anderson earned the second match point on court five. The pair dominated in both sets, 21-15, 21-15, maintaining the lead the entire time. This was also Cassie Anderson's first career win.
Court three wasted no time shutting down Central Arkansas. Alaina Chacon and Alex Hilton held UCA to only nine points in the first set and 13 points in the second set. Hilton became the third Nole of the night to notch her first career win.

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 3 ranked Florida State Seminoles (7-1) finished off the TCU Horned Frog Challenge with a 4-1 win over No. 18 South Carolina (4-4) and a 3-2 loss to No. 5 TCU (8-0). Both of today's matches were CCSA matches, giving the Noles a 1-1 start to conference play.

After today's win, FSU leads the series with South Carolina 18-0. The last three match ups between these two teams all resulted in a 4-1 win for the Seminoles.

For the first time this season, the Seminoles trailed after the first two courts. Court five lost in two sets while court four lost in the third set. Both courts were close battles that unfortunately went in favor of TCU.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick moved up to court two for tonight's contest. The pair brought home FSU's first match point winning in two sets 21-14, 21-11.

TCU and FSU met for the 13th time tonight in series history. TCU won their first match, making the series record 12-1 in favor of FSU.
For the first time this season, the Seminoles trailed after the first two courts. Court five lost in two sets while court four lost in the third set. Both courts were close battles that unfortunately went in favor of TCU.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick moved up to court two for tonight's contest. The pair brought home FSU's first match point winning in two sets 21-14, 21-11.
Court one tied up the match with TCU as Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer defeated TCU 21-15 and 21-19.
The match decision came down to court three with Morgan Chacon and Keara Rutz. The pair started off strong in the first set before falling behind in the last two. They would end up losing 19-21, 21-17, 15-8.

Beach Volleyball Splits the First Day at Stetson Sun-N-Sand Invitational.
DELAND, Fla. - The fourth-ranked Seminoles (8-2) finished 1-1 after a rainy first day at the Stetson Sun-N-Sand Invitational. Due to the first match of the tournament going through a rain delay, the rest of the matches were finalized after three match points. The invitational format played courts one, three, and five first, followed by courts four and five if necessary.
FSU 1, USC 3
After an almost two-hour rain delay, the Seminoles lost their second match of the season 3-1 to No. 2 USC.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer dropped the first match point of the day on court one, losing 21-12, 21-13. Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick saw similar results dropping court three to USC 21-16, 21-14.
On court five, Kate Privett and Raelyn White earned the solo match point for the Seminoles. The pair came back after a first set loss to win 19-21, 21-19, 15-8.
The match was finalized on court two after Morgan Chacon and Liz Waters-Leiga fell to USC 21-16, 21-17.
Caitlin Moon and Jordan Polo's match was cut short after USC took the third point. The pair won the first set 22-20 before they were sent off.
The Seminoles will have a chance to play USC again on April 16th at the Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo, California.

The Seminoles bounced back from this morning's loss to defeat Tampa 3-0. Florida State remains unbeaten against Tampa and leads the series 5-0.
Kate Privett and Raelyn White earned their second win on the day, beating Tampa 21-13, 21-15. The pair is now 8-1 on the season and 7-0 on court five. Privett improved her court five wins record to 53.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer earned the next match point on court one. They put away Tampa in two sets, 21-19, 21-16.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick also redeemed themselves from this morning and held Tampa to only nine points in the first set and 13 in the second set.

Beach Volleyball Wins Final Match of the Weekend.
DELAND, Fla. - The fourth-ranked Seminoles (9-2) finished the weekend 2-1 after defeating No. 18 Stetson 3-2 on a chilly Sunday morning.
FSU 3, Stetson 2
Florida State continues their perfect dominance over Stetson, improving their series lead to 17-0. Four of the five courts went to a tie-breaking third set during today's match.
Raelyn White and Kate Privett went undefeated on the weekend on court five. The pair defeated Stetson quickly 21-16 in the first set before falling in the second set 21-19. The pair came back and won the third set 15-11.
Jordan Polo and Caitlin Moon fought back on court four after an early deficit to win their match in three sets. The pair dropped the first set 21-18 before winning the next two 21-13, 15-12.
The match-clinching point was provided by Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick on court two. The pair dominated in the first set, holding Stetson to only nine points before defeating them 21-15 in the second set. Chacon and Fitzpatrick now have 36 career wins as a pair.

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (10-3) defeated No. 7 Grand Canyon and lost a close battle to No. 1 UCLA on the first day of the March to May tournament. Due to inclement weather and delays, today's matches were played until decision.

Florida State improved their series lead over Grand Canyon to 8-0 following today's 3-1 decision. Under Coach Niles, the Seminoles now have 56 wins against top-10 opponents.
Kate Privett and Raelyn White are on a hot streak this season. They earned the first match point in today's contest, holding GCU to only 12 points in both sets. The pair is now 10-1 on the season.
Court one followed in court five's footsteps, holding their opponents to 12 points in both sets as well. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer are now 7-3 this season.

BATON ROUGE, La. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (14-4) ended the first day of the LSU Beach Invitational 2-1. The Noles defeated Tampa 5-0 for the third time this season and defeated No. 6 LSU on their home courts. No. 2 TCU edged the Seminoles 4-1 in a very close dual.

On court two, the Chacon sisters entered the lineup together for their first time at Florida State. Alaina and Morgan dominated in both sets, winning 21-10, 21-12.

Even though the overall score may not reflect it, No. 4 Florida State and No. 2 TCU battled hard through very close sets before TCU ultimately walked away with the win. TCU has won both duals against Florida State this season, but FSU still leads the overall series 12-2.
Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon matched up on court three for today's match. The pair exchanged points back and forth with TCU but could not find the advantage. Polo and Chacon dropped the match to TCU 21-19, 21-14.
Raelyn White and Kate Privett fought for every point on court five. The duo stayed within three points of TCU but could not catch up to the Horned Frogs. TCU won the match 22-20, 21-18.
Following the theme of the first three games, Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer were unable to get an edge over TCU on court one. The pair dropped the match 23-21, 21-17.
On courts two and four, the pairs went to three sets each. The redshirt senior duo of Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon earned the only match point for the Seminoles, winning 21-17, 17-21, 15-11 on court two.
Liz Waters-Leiga and Jenna Johnson lost the first set 21-14, won the second set 21-18 and then dropped the third set 15-12 on court four.

The Seminoles earned a statement win over LSU tonight. After a season-ending loss in the NCAA Championship Tournament last season, the Seminoles fought through to the very last set to overcome the Tigers 3-2.
The Seminoles hit the scoreboard first with a match point on court four. Anna Long and Jordan Polo won in two very close sets 25-23, 21-19.
Luck did not seem to be on Kate Privett and Raelyn White's side as they dropped their second match of the day. The pair lost in the third set to LSU after uncharacteristic errors and unlucky rolls. LSU won the match 15-21, 21-16, 15-13.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer made a statement on court one, earning the second match point of the night in two sets 21-14, 21-13. Jenna Johnson and Liz-Waters Leiga gave LSU their second match point of the night, losing 21-16, 21-12 on court three.
The match decision came down to court two with Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon. After giving up the first set 21-15, they took charge in the next two sets. Once the pair found their rhythm, they gained the advantage in the second set 21-19, forcing it to three. After four LSU errors, Chacon and Fitzpatrick took the lead and never looked back. They sealed the win for the Seminoles in the third set 15-12.

BATON ROUGE, La. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (14-4) ended the first day of the LSU Beach Invitational 2-1. The Noles defeated Tampa 5-0 for the third time this season and defeated No. 6 LSU on their home courts. No. 2 TCU edged the Seminoles 4-1 in a very close dual.

The Seminoles started off their day with their third sweep this season against Tampa. Florida State now leads the all-time series 6-0.
On court two, the Chacon sisters entered the lineup together for their first time at Florida State. Alaina and Morgan dominated in both sets, winning 21-10, 21-12.
Kate Privett and Raelyn White took their usual spots on court five and defeated Tampa in two sets 21-11, 21-15.
Madison Fitzpatrick and Jenna Johnson worked together on court three for the first time this season. The pair held the lead the entire time, earning the win 21-16, 21-12.

The Seminoles came out strong on Sunday morning, defeating Texas A&M Corpus Christi 4-1. Florida State currently leads the all-time series 3-0.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer took court two together for the first time this season. The pair earned the first match point for the Seminoles, defeating TAMUCC 21-6, 21-17.
Shortly after, Jordan Polo and Anna Long earned the next point for the Seminoles, winning 21-9, 21-19.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (25-6) split day one at Cal Poly's Center of Effort Challenge. The Noles dropped a hard-fought match to No. 3 UCLA and defeated No. 13 Cal Poly.
FSU 2, UCLA 3
The Seminoles dropped their first match of the day to UCLA. The Bruins defeated the Seminoles 3-2 for the second time this season. Much like the first meeting in Gulf Shores, the dual was very close and went down to the last court. UCLA leads the all-time series 12-7.
UCLA took the lead early on court three, defeating Kate Privett and Anna Long in two sets. The Bruins won the first set 21-17 and the second set 22-20.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick forced the Bruins to three sets on court two after losing the first set 21-14. Chacon and Fitzpatrick took the lead early in the second set and held on to win 21-17. The third set was tight, but the Bruins ultimately earned their second match point 15-13.
Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon earned the first match point for the Seminoles on court four. The pair won both sets in extra points, with the first set going to 29-27 and the second 25-23.

Beach Volleyball Splits First Day of Center of Effort Challenge.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (25-6) split day one at Cal Poly's Center of Effort Challenge. The Noles dropped a hard-fought match to No. 3 UCLA and defeated No. 13 Cal Poly.
FSU 2, UCLA 3
The Seminoles dropped their first match of the day to UCLA. The Bruins defeated the Seminoles 3-2 for the second time this season. Much like the first meeting in Gulf Shores, the dual was very close and went down to the last court. UCLA leads the all-time series 12-7.
UCLA took the lead early on court three, defeating Kate Privett and Anna Long in two sets. The Bruins won the first set 21-17 and the second set 22-20.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick forced the Bruins to three sets on court two after losing the first set 21-14. Chacon and Fitzpatrick took the lead early in the second set and held on to win 21-17. The third set was tight, but the Bruins ultimately earned their second match point 15-13.
Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon earned the first match point for the Seminoles on court four. The pair won both sets in extra points, with the first set going to 29-27 and the second 25-23.

Beach Volleyball Sweeps LSU on Day 1 of CCSA Championships.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (26-8) started their quest for the CCSA Championship with a 5-0 sweep over No. 6 LSU.
FSU 5, LSU 0
The Seminoles remain undefeated against the Tigers this season, defeating LSU by the largest margin this year. Florida State became the only team to sweep the Tigers so far this season and improve the all-time series lead to 16-2.
Redshirt senior duo, Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon earned the first match point for the Seminoles on court two. The pair made easy work of the Tigers, defeating them in two sets 21-19, 21-16.
Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo kept the momentum going with another two-set win over LSU. On court four, the pair defeated the Tigers 21-14 in the first set. Chacon and Polo fought through extra points to seal the win 25-23.
All-Americans, Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer proved their status, earning the match-clinching point for the Seminoles on court one. They dominated in the first set, winning 21-17. The second set was much closer as LSU took the lead for the first time at 18-17. Anderson and Bauer responded, retaking the advantage, and winning 24-22.
The veteran and true freshman pairing of Kate Privett and Anna Long fought through three sets to earn the fourth point for Florida State. The Tigers earned their only first set win 21-19 on court three against Privett and Long. The pair forced it to three sets with a 21-18 win in the second set. The momentum remained in favor of Privett and Long as they rolled through the third set quickly, winning 15-11.
The final, sweeping point came from the duo of Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon on court five. The pair won the first set 21-16 and lost the second set 21-17. The third set was the closest on this court, as they battled through extra points to decide a winner. White and Moon powered through and sealed the sweep, winning 16-14.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (26-9) lost to No. 2 TCU in a close-fought 3-2 dual. They will play the winner of Tulane vs. LSU.

The Horned Frogs have been a problem for the Seminoles this season, earning their third win against FSU. TCU's only series wins have been from this season, but the Seminoles still lead the all-time series 13-3.
TCU earned their first match point on court one. All-Americans Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer lost to another All-American pair 21-14, 21-18.
Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon tied up the score on court five with a two-set win over the Horned Frogs. The pair won the first set 21-17 and won the second set in extra points 26-24.
The Seminoles took the match lead over TCU 2-1 with a win on court four from duo Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo. Chacon and Polo won the first set 21-12 and then TCU forced the third set with a 22-20 win in the second set. Chacon and Polo fought back and won the third set 19-17.

Beach Volleyball Advances to Double Elimination Rounds in Dramatic Fashion.
GULF SHORES, Ala. - The fifth-seed Florida State Seminoles (29-9) defeated 12th-seed Cal Poly 3-2 in the single elimination round at the NCAA Championship Tournament.

The Seminoles advance to the round of eight after a very close dual with Cal Poly. Florida State had an advantage over the Mustangs, winning the first set on courts two through five. The Mustangs fought back to make the match interesting, forcing courts three and five to three sets. Kate Privett and Anna Long kept the Seminole's postseason alive with a 15-13 win in the third set.
Florida State got the scoring started with a two-set win on court four. Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo had the most dominant Seminole win today, defeating Cal Poly 21-14 in the first set and 21-12 in the second set. Coming off an undefeated weekend at the CCSA Tournament, Chacon and Polo are on a five-game winning streak and have an overall record of 16-4.

The Mustangs were not ready to give up that easy and tied the dual with wins on courts one and five. On court one, Cal Poly defeated Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer in two sets 21-19, 21-16. The second point for the Mustangs was earned in three sets on court five. Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon dominated in the first set, winning 21-13. In the last two sets, Cal Poly was able to capitalize off FSU errors and take the match point 21-15, 15-11.
Kate Privett and Anna Long saved the Seminoles on court three. It took extra points for Privett and Long to defeat the Mustangs in the first set, 25-23. Cal Poly responded in the second set, winning 21-16. Court three was the final court to start their third set, behind court five. As the match on court five ended, Privett and Long were down 12-10. With all eyes on them, the pair scored three unanswered points to take the lead and allowed only one more point, winning 15-13.
This was the third time that the Seminoles have defeated Cal Poly this season, the other wins were at home and at Cal Poly. Florida State is 8-0 all-time against the Mustangs.

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The fifth-seed Florida State Seminoles (30-9) upset fourth-seed Loyola Marymount 3-1 in the second round of the NCCA Championship Tournament.
FSU 3, LMU 1
The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Loyola Marymount Lions 3-1 after a three-and-a-half-hour weather delay. The conditions were less than ideal with high winds and humidity. The Seminoles seemed to have benefited from the wind after competing and getting used to playing with the wind at the CCSA Conference Tournament.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick earned the first match point for the Seminoles on court two. The pair had a slow start, but much like Wednesday, once they found their rhythm, they were unstoppable. Chacon was a blocking force at the net, denying the Lions time and time again. Fitzpatrick came up big in key moments with smart plays and big kills. The pair defeated LMU 21-15 in both sets. With today's win, Chacon become the ninth Seminole to achieve 100 career wins.
LMU earned their only match point on court five against Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon. The Lions defeated the pair in two sets 21-15, 21-17.
The Seminoles added another win to the tally on court three with Anna Long and Kate Privett. The pair got the job done today much faster than on Wednesday. Long and Privett have proven to be a pair that will play until the end of every point. They earned the advantage on many long rallies with their endurance and resilience. Long and Privett defeated the Lions 21-14 in the first set and 21-18 in the second set.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer clinched the match on court one with a two-set win over the Lions. Anderson and Bauer fought through a close first match, winning 21-19. After regrouping between sets, the pair made key adjustments to shut down the Lions. Anderson sealed the dual win with a strong swing that the Lions could not return. The pair won the second set 21-16.
Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon were on path to three sets on court four before the final whistle was blown. The pair dropped the first set in extra points 23-25. After figuring out how to handle the wind, Chacon and Polo came out with power in the second set. They were leading 19-13 when the match was decided on court one.

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The fifth-seed Florida State Seminoles (32-10) are headed to the semifinal match tomorrow for the first time since 2018 after a comeback in the elimination bracket. Florida State was sent to the elimination bracket after a 3-1 loss to No. 1 USC. The Seminoles kept their season alive with a 3-1 win against sixth-seed LSU and a 3-0 sweep over fourth-seed LMU.
FSU 1, USC 3
The Seminoles started the day with a close loss to No. 1 USC. Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon delivered USC's only match loss of the weekend on court two and defeated USC's undefeated pair of Megan Kraft and Sammy Slater.
USC earned the first match on court three against Anna Long and Kate Privett. The Women of Troy defeated the pair 21-6, 21-10.
On court two, Fitzpatrick and Chacon earned the only match point for the Seminoles. The second-winningest pair in FSU history (53), defeated USC 21-19 in the first set and 21-18 in the second set. Fitzpatrick and Chacon came into the match determined and confident and the score most definitely reflected it.
USC earned their second match point on court four against Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo. Both sets went into extra points, but the Women of Troy were able to edge out Chacon and Polo 21-19, 24-22.

Beach Volleyball Falls in National Championship to USC, 3-1.
GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Florida State Seminoles concluded their season with a loss to No. 1 USC in the championship match after fighting back through the elimination bracket. The Seminoles earned their spot in the final match after a 3-2 victory over third-seed UCLA.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick had a stellar weekend, going 6-1 at the tournament. Two of their wins were the only match points for the Seminoles against USC and against an unbeaten pair. The redshirt senior duo earned All-Tournament accolades at the second flight and have left their mark on the FSU program with 58 wins as a pair, placing them at second all-time.
Chacon leaves FSU with 104 career wins, 100 of which were dual wins placing her at second all-time for dual wins. She is also second for wins on court one with 45 and tied for fourth for wins on court two with 36. Fitzpatrick is third all-time for wins on court two with 39 and is tied at seventh for dual match wins with 85.
FSU 3, UCLA 2
The Seminoles punched their ticket to the championship with a thrilling 3-2 win over UCLA after losing to the Bruins 3-2 twice in the regular season. The match was incredibly close with a majority of set wins within two points. The match-deciding set was won 15-13 by Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer on court one.
On the starting courts of two and four, both matches played out 118 points in arguably the closest match up of the season. Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon faced their only loss of the weekend to UCLA's pair on court two. All three sets were fought to the end and were within two points. Chacon and Fitzpatrick dropped the first set 25-23, won the second set 21-19 and lost the third set 16-14.
On court four, the scores were almost identical, this time in favor of the Seminoles. Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo tied up the match after winning in the third set. Chacon and Polo won the first set 21-16, lost the second set 23-21, and won the final set 16-14.
UCLA earned their second match point on court three against Kate Privett and Anna Long. The Bruins won the match 21-19 in both sets.
Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White evened the tally on court five with a two-set victory over the Bruins. Moon and White made quick work of UCLA in the first set, winning 21-15. The second set was a little close for comfort, but they were able to pull out the win 21-18. The match came down to Brook Bauer and Maddie Anderson on court one. The pair started out strong, defeating the Bruins 21-16 in the first set. UCLA responded accordingly, forcing it to three sets with a 23-21 win in the second set. With the whole crowd surrounding the court, UCLA had a bad touch and Bauer made them pay for it sealing the win 15-13.
FSU 1, USC 3
The Seminoles earned second place at the NCAA tournament for the fourth time in school history after a loss to USC in the final match. Florida State was the only school to score a match point against the Women of Troy during the tournament and they did Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo dropped the first match point to the Women of Troy in two sets. USC won the first set 21-18 and the second set 21-16.
The story of the weekend, Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon defeated USC for the second time. The pair dropped the first set 21-14 and came out determined in the second set. After being down 16-11, Fitzpatrick and Chacon rallied to win the second set 24-22. The momentum kept rolling as the pair kept the advantage over the Bruins throughout the third set. Chacon earned the match point with a formidable block that sent the ball straight down into USC's territory, winning 17-15.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer dropped their match on court one to USC 21-17, 21-15, giving the Women of Troy their second match point. USC sealed the match with a win on court three over Anna Long and Kate Privett. USC won 25-23 in the first set and 21-12 in the second set.
Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White were on the path of three sets when the final horn was blown. The pair lost the first set 21-15 but came out strong in the second having the lead 19-16 at the end.
The Seminoles finish the season with a 33-11 record and head coach, Brook Niles improved to 201-42 in her career at Florida State.

Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick had a stellar weekend, going 6-1 at the tournament. Two of their wins were the only match points for the Seminoles against USC and against an unbeaten pair. The redshirt senior duo earned All-Tournament accolades at the second flight and have left their mark on the FSU program with 58 wins as a pair, placing them at second all-time.
Chacon leaves FSU with 104 career wins, 100 of which were dual wins placing her at second all-time for dual wins. She is also second for wins on court one with 45 and tied for fourth for wins on court two with 36. Fitzpatrick is third all-time for wins on court two with 39 and is tied at seventh for dual match wins with 85.
FSU 3, UCLA 2
The Seminoles punched their ticket to the championship with a thrilling 3-2 win over UCLA after losing to the Bruins 3-2 twice in the regular season. The match was incredibly close with a majority of set wins within two points. The match-deciding set was won 15-13 by Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer on court one.
On the starting courts of two and four, both matches played out 118 points in arguably the closest match up of the season. Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon faced their only loss of the weekend to UCLA's pair on court two. All three sets were fought to the end and were within two points. Chacon and Fitzpatrick dropped the first set 25-23, won the second set 21-19 and lost the third set 16-14.
On court four, the scores were almost identical, this time in favor of the Seminoles. Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo tied up the match after winning in the third set. Chacon and Polo won the first set 21-16, lost the second set 23-21, and won the final set 16-14.
UCLA earned their second match point on court three against Kate Privett and Anna Long. The Bruins won the match 21-19 in both sets.
Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White evened the tally on court five with a two-set victory over the Bruins. Moon and White made quick work of UCLA in the first set, winning 21-15. The second set was a little close for comfort, but they were able to pull out the win 21-18. The match came down to Brook Bauer and Maddie Anderson on court one. The pair started out strong, defeating the Bruins 21-16 in the first set. UCLA responded accordingly, forcing it to three sets with a 23-21 win in the second set. With the whole crowd surrounding the court, UCLA had a bad touch and Bauer made them pay for it sealing the win 15-13.
FSU 1, USC 3
The Seminoles earned second place at the NCAA tournament for the fourth time in school history after a loss to USC in the final match. Florida State was the only school to score a match point against the Women of Troy during the tournament and they did Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo dropped the first match point to the Women of Troy in two sets. USC won the first set 21-18 and the second set 21-16.
The story of the weekend, Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon defeated USC for the second time. The pair dropped the first set 21-14 and came out determined in the second set. After being down 16-11, Fitzpatrick and Chacon rallied to win the second set 24-22. The momentum kept rolling as the pair kept the advantage over the Bruins throughout the third set. Chacon earned the match point with a formidable block that sent the ball straight down into USC's territory, winning 17-15.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer dropped their match on court one to USC 21-17, 21-15, giving the Women of Troy their second match point. USC sealed the match with a win on court three over Anna Long and Kate Privett. USC won 25-23 in the first set and 21-12 in the second set.
Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White were on the path of three sets when the final horn was blown. The pair lost the first set 21-15 but came out strong in the second having the lead 19-16 at the end.
The Seminoles finish the season with a 33-11 record and head coach, Brook Niles improved to 201-42 in her career at Florida State.
