Kjettrup Selected to All-ACC Men's Golf Team. May 12, 2022 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State Men's Golf sophomore Frederik Kjettrup has been
selected to the 15-member 2022 All-ACC Men's Golf Team, announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference. Kjettrup has enjoyed a superb second season with the Seminoles, shooting an average score vs. par
of -0.93. The Aabybro, Denmark, native becomes the 20th Seminole to earn an all-conference award. He leads Florida State with a 70.66 scoring average as the Seminoles prepare for an NCAA Regional
at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., from May 16-18. Kjettrup's selection to the All-ACC Team continues a 15-year streak where at least one Seminole has earned an All-ACC honor
dating back to 2007. After ending his fall season finishing tied for second at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate, Kjettrup continued that momentum into the spring. He enjoyed a stretch of four
consecutive tournaments finishing in the Top 5, including the Watersound Invitational (third), Cabo Collegiate Invitational (T5), the All-American Intercollegiate (T1) and the Valspar Collegiate
(second). Also highlighting his tremendous sophomore season was shooting a pair of 64s at the Valspar Collegiate. With three rounds in his career at 64 or lower, he is the first Seminole ever to
accomplish such a feat. Among the other accomplishments in 2021-22, Kjettrup is on the Haskins Award Watch List, will represent the International Team at the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup held July 1-3 at
Golf Club de Geneve and earned ACC Co-Golfer of the Month twice. If Kjettrup and the Seminoles can finish in the Top 5 of their 14-team regional in Palm Beach Gardens, they will advance to the 2022
NCAA Championship held May 27-June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. June 8, 2022 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Frederik Kjettrup and
Brett Roberts of Florida State Men's Golf were selected as PING Honorable Mention All-Americans, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Kjettrup becomes the 35th All-American in
Florida State Men's Golf history, while Roberts repeats the feat from his freshman year in 2020-21. Roberts becomes the 12th men's golfer at Florida State to earn All-America honors in multiple
years. Both student-athletes were instrumental in the Seminoles making another run at the NCAA Finals, where they tied for 21st at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Kjettrup garnered a Top
50 player ranking from Golfstat at the end of the season, and earned All-ACC Team honors following a noticeable improvement in his second year. He shot two rounds of 64 at The Valspar Invitational
this year, tying for the eighth-lowest rounds ever in school history. The native of Denmark is preparing for his first trip to the Arnold Palmer Cup, which is held July 1-3 at the Golf Club de
Genève in Cologny, Switzerland. Roberts had a strong run to end his second year with the Seminoles, winning the NCAA Palm Beach Regional at PGA National after shooting 7-under. He became the
fourth Seminole to win an NCAA Regional but the first since Drew Kittleson in 2010. The native of Coral Springs, Fla., recorded a scoring average of 72.46 and shot +0.97 vs. par in 2021-22. He led
the team with 11 rounds played in the 60s and entered the NCAA Final shooting 19-under over his previous seven rounds. Roberts earned Top 10 finishes at the Jackson Stephens Cup (T8th), Cabo
Collegiate Invitational (T10th), the ACC Men's Golf Championship (9th) and the NCAA Palm Beach Regional (1st).

Kjettrup Tied for Third in Opening Round at Olympia Fields.
September 17, 2021
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Sophomore Florida State Men's golfer Frederik Kjettrup carded an impressive opening-round 69 (-1) to lead the Seminoles on the first day at the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational.
Kjettrup, who came off a promising freshman season at FSU, is one of only seven golfers in the tournament who was able to go under par in the first round at a challenging course like Olympia Fields. There are 81 total golfers in the field.
The native of Aabybro, Denmark, recorded his seventh round as a Seminole in the 60s. FSU is tied for ninth overall after shooting an 11-over 291. He is only one shot off the lead, which belongs to co-leaders Drew Salyers (-2) of Indiana and David Ford (-2) of North Carolina.
"I saw some encouraging things from our guys today," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "Freddy had a good summer and came back a better player. This place is tough and will expose any weakness you have. I am looking forward to seeing how we respond tomorrow."
A hot stretch toward the end of his round brought Kjettrup up the leaderboard, recording three consecutive birdies on holes 15-17 before ending with a bogey on 18. The 18th hole, a long par-4, 496-yarder, proved to be the most difficult one among all golfers with an average score vs. par of +0.56.
Oklahoma State leads the field at +1, followed by North Carolina (+3) and Indiana (+3), Arizona State (+5), Purdue (+8), Texas (+8) and Florida (+8) in the Top 5.
Senior newcomer Dan Bradbury is tied for 32nd overall at 3-over, with two birdies highlighting his Seminole debut. Bradbury is a native of Wakefield, England, who was one of the nation's top golfers at the Division II level out of Lincoln Memorial University.
Michael Sakane, a top-notch transfer from Jacksonville University, is tied for 43rd at 4-over, while
redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson (+5) is tied for 51st and sophomore Brett Roberts (+7) is tied for 70th.
September 18, 2021
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup continues to lead No. 12 Florida State Men's Golf through two rounds at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational, as he is tied for ninth overall while FSU is 13th in the team standings at Olympia Fields Country Club.
None of the 15 teams in the tournament, with nearly everyone in the Top 25, is under par on the team leaderboard. FSU is 25-over through two rounds, shooting three strokes higher on Saturday at 294.
Kjettrup shot a 72 in the second round and is 1-over for the tournament, putting him five shots off the lead held by three players in David Puig of Arizona State (-4), Brian Stark of Oklahoma State (-4) and David Ford of North Carolina (-4).
Kjettrup recorded two birdies on Saturday, taking advantage of the 10th hole that is a par-4, 444-yard hole. He added another birdie on the par-5, 576-yard 15th hole.
Senior Dan Bradbury carded a 73 for the second consecutive round and is 6-over for the tournament, which is tied for 37th. He recorded three birdies on the back nine, ending his round with one on the long 18th, par-4, 496-yard hole.
Senior Michael Sakane is 8-over through two rounds, followed by Cole Anderson (+10) and Brett Roberts (+12).
North Carolina (+1) leads the tournament, while Arizona State (+4), Oklahoma State (+8), Indiana (+11) and Alabama (+13) remain in
the Top 5.
September 19, 2021
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Guiding Florida State Men's Golf all weekend, sophomore Frederik Kjettrup came away from the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational with something to build on. The native of Aabybro, Denmark, tied for 20th at Olympia Fields, while FSU finished 13th as a team.
"Obviously, not a good result," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "We were not a good golf team this week, but we will be. I am confident this will make us better."
Kjettrup finished at 4-over (69-72-73) for the tournament to easily lead the Seminoles, nabbing his fifth career Top 20 placement since beginning his time at FSU with the Timuquana Collegiate in Jan. 2021. Highlighting his three-day stay was his opening-round 69. In Sunday' final round, he used three birdies to his advantage, with his last coming on the par-5, 576-yard 15th hole.
Kjettrup fared the best of all 81 competing golfers on par 5 holes, shooting 4-under over the three days.
Senior Michael Sakane finished strong with an even-par 70 on Sunday, tying for 35th overall at 8-over (74-74-70) in his first tournament played as a Seminole. On a difficult golf course, Sakane's card was pretty clean in the final round with two birdies and two bogeys.
Fellow senior transfer Dan Bradbury tied for 39th at 9-over (73-73-73), playing consistently all weekend. The Wakefield, England, native had one birdie on Sunday at the tricky par-4, 396-yard 11th hole.
Cole Anderson tied for 51st at 11-over, while Brett Roberts shot 15-over and tied for 64th.
Florida State shot its lowest round of the tournament on Sunday, shooting 7-over in the final round and 32-over (291-294-287) overall.
North Carolina took home the title at Olympia Fields after shooting 2-over, holding off second-place Arizona State (+5) by three strokes. UNC's Austin Greaser won the tournament at 4-under and was one of just five golfers to shoot under par overall.

DUBLIN, Ohio - The combined Florida State men's and women's golf team defeated Auburn (7-1-0) and Ohio State (6-1-1) on Monday and will play for the championship of the Barbara Nicklaus Cup on Tuesday at the Muirfield Village Golf Club. With dominating victories over both the Tigers (Florida State earned seven team points) and the Buckeyes (Florida State earned 6.5 team points) the Seminoles enter their match against Arizona State with 13.5 team points. The Seminoles are ahead of Ohio State (7.5 team points), Arizona State (7.5 team points) and Auburn (3.5 team points) with one match to play on Tuesday against Arizona State.

With a total of eight team points available in its match against Arizona State on Tuesday, Florida State (13.5 team points) will clinch the championship by garnering 2.5 points against the Sun Devils (7.5 team points). The Seminoles were undefeated in singles play with Kayla Williams, Cecilie Finne-Ipsen, Dan Bradbury and Connor Futrell gaining wins. The Sun Devils won the first mixed foursome match only to have the Buckeyes win five straight matches (three mixed foursomes and two singles) to take control of the match. The teams split the final two singles pairings of the match.

DUBLIN, Ohio - The Florida State Men's and Women's Golf Teams enjoyed a two-day event at the inaugural Barbara Nicklaus Cup that they'll never forget.
Paired together in a prestigious mixed foursomes and singles event with Auburn, Ohio State and Arizona State at Muirfield Village, the Seminoles routed the opposition on their way to winning the match-play tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
"This truly was a special week," FSU Men's Golf Head Coach Trey Jones said. "The opportunity to have both teams together and competing together…Our motto for the week coming into this event is that we always feel like we're one team. But we truly played as one team this week. Watching both teams compete at a very high level against some of the nation's best collegiate golf teams was great to see."
Florida State recorded 16.5 points, mostly credited to a strong start on Monday when it defeated Auburn, 7-1, and followed with a win over Ohio State, 6.5-1.5. On Tuesday, FSU fell to Arizona State, 5-3, but finished with the most points recorded in the Ryder/Solheim Cup-style event.
"This was a very special few days of golf with the men and women playing together," FSU Women's Golf Head Coach Amy Bond said. "It was a fun format with a mixed pair alternate shot and singles matches. We played as one team and as a coach it was one of the best experiences of my life. Playing at Muirfield at a tournament in honor of Barbara Nicklaus was a great experience for everyone."
Tournament host Ohio State and Arizona State each finished second with 12 team points, followed by Auburn's seven.
Women's golf freshman Kaylah Williams sparked the Seminoles by being the lone member to go 3-0 in the event. The native of South Africa began by defeating Auburn's McCarthy, 3&2, before teaming with men's golf's Brett Roberts to defeat Steyn/Choi of Ohio State 1UP.
In the final match on Tuesday, she solidified her unbeaten mark when she joined Michael Sakane in defeating Coelho/Fanali of Arizona State 1UP.
"The guys and girls played well together," Bond added. "There was some tremendous golf and most importantly there was lots of smiles and teamwork. Kaylah played some great golf this week both by herself and with both of her teammates. To go 3-0 in this format was hard as you had to rely on your partners. She played well and gained lots of experience."
Two men's golfers finished undefeated, although Williams was the only one to win all three matches. Connor Futrell put together an impressive showing by going 2-0-1, while Frederik Kjettrup also went 2-0-1 at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup.
Junior Elle Johnson, sophomore Charlotte Heath, sophomore Alice Hodge and senior Cecilie Finne-Ipsen each completed strong showings by going 2-1. Senior Beatrice Wallin finished 1-1-1.
Roberts (2-1), Dan Bradbury (2-1) and Cole Anderson (2-1) also benefitted the Seminoles greatly on Monday and Tuesday with winning records.
"Being associated with anything involving the Nicklaus Family, and anything with Barbara's name on it, with their association with Florida State, is truly an honor," Jones added. "To win the golf tournament and be the first winner of this event is something special. The opportunity to get our players to a place like Muirfield Village Golf Club - it's one of the best courses in the world and it's an experience these players will never forget. I think both teams leave here better than before, and we'll carry the momentum on to our next events."

ROLAND, Ark. - A productive final round of stroke play elevated Florida State Men's Golf up to third place at the Jackson Stephens Cup on Tuesday. FSU enters Wednesday's match as the No. 3 seed and faces No. 4 seed Arizona at the Alotian Club in Roland, Ark.
The Seminoles shot 3-under in the final stroke play round, the second-lowest among the six participating programs on Tuesday.
"I am happy for the players to see a good round and make a run at the championship match," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "It shows a lot about their pride and competitive spirit."
Senior Connor Futrell shot the round of the tournament so far for FSU, carding a 4-under 68. He recorded an eagle on the par-5, 598-yard 17th hole to go along with five birdies in the third round.
Futrell is tied with Frederik Kjettrup and Brett Roberts among the team's leaders at 5-over for the tournament and tied for eighth apiece. Kjettrup shot a 2-over 74 on Tuesday while Roberts recorded an even-par 72 at the difficult golf course.
Roberts had a stretch of three consecutive birdies to finish his third round. He totaled five birdies and five bogeys in his round.

Top-seeded Notre Dame and No. 2 seed Arkansas will play in one of the matches on Wednesday, and Alabama (5) faces San Diego State (6) along with FSU battling Arizona in match play.
"We felt like we had the biggest adjustment with the elevations and green speeds but they are tournament golfers, and they have to learn how to adapt to wherever they travel," Jones said. "They all learned a lot and we learned more about them. Now on to play a very good Arizona team in a match tomorrow."

Futrell Ends on High Note at Stephens Cup.
ROLAND, Ark. - Tallahassee native Connor Futrell of the Florida State Men's Golf team was FSU's lone winner in match play vs. Arizona on Wednesday at the Stephens Cup, defeating his opponent 2&1 at the Alotian Club in Roland, Ark.
The win by Futrell over Jackson Norwich of Arizona moves his record to 3-0-1 in match play competition this season, going 2-0-1 at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup in FSU's last tournament. Futrell got ahead by as many as three holes on the front nine vs. Norwich, then stayed steady on the back nine.
"Connor really wants to leave his legacy at Florida State," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "Being very close last year to playing in the national championship, he is starting to figure out what is needed to be successful at our level. He is gaining confidence and will use this week to take another step forward."
Norwich cut his deficit to one hole through 16, but Futrell responded by winning the 17th hole to seal the match.
Overall, the Seminoles fell to Arizona, 1.5-3.5, in what was a battle between third and fourth seeds, respectively.
Futrell, who attended Chiles High School and then starred at Troy University from 2017-20, ended on a high note in stroke play as well. He carded a 4-under 68 in Tuesday's final round, the lowest round by a Seminole at the tournament.
Notre Dame emerged as The Stephens Cup champions after defeating Arkansas, 4-1, in the championship match.
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup is the other Seminole who did not lose his match, halving with Arizona's Aidric Chan.

MOBILE, Ala. - The Florida State men's golf team, which came into the day sitting in fourth place, successfully defended their Mobile Bay Intercollegiate title capturing the championship Tuesday. It is the fourth consecutive year FSU has taken home the title as the squad improved by 16 strokes from round one and 13 strokes from round two to come back and capture the title. Dan Bradbury, who placed third in the tournament, led FSU as he posted a score of 848 (-16), and an outstanding third-round total score of 273 (-15).
"We had a team meeting last night and the consensus was just stay patient, believe in yourself, and have confidence, and they all did," said FSU Head Coach Trey Jones. "We came out today and played like the golf team that we have seen around here for a while. A lot of heart. We talked about wanting to get better as the tournament goes on and we want our best golf to be at the end is one thing, but to go out and give yourself this chance late and then close it off speaks a lot of them and who they are and everything about them as people and competitors."
Bradbury shot a stellar third round of 67 (-5) as he went through the entire round without a single score over par. He began his tremendous play on the third hole, with an eagle on a par four, keeping that momentum, he birdied the following par five. Bradbury went on to birdie holes twelve and thirteen and finished his play concurrently. Bradbury led FSU shooting -7 on par five's. Bradbury had rounds of 72-70-67, finishing with a total of 209 (-7), contributing heavily to the Florida State victory and posting his best performance as a Seminole.
Senior team captain, Calvin Sierota, who played individually, placed T-13. Sophomore Brett Roberts also placed T-13, with both finishing the tournament with a total of 214 (-2). Both had a terrific third round. Sierota carded a 68 (-4), shooting his best score on the final day, 73-73-68. Sierota also led the team in birdies, having 14 in three rounds. He joined Bradbury in the eagle club for the tournament, eagling the first par five of the course. He led the team in eagles, with two in the tournament, as well as tying the tournament lead for pars, with 41.
Patrick McCann competed individually in his first college tournament, finishing with scores of 72-71-76, for a total of 219 (+3), placing T-37. Cole Anderson placed T-69 shooting his best score in round two, with a 71.

CABO, Mexico - The Florida State Men's Golf team wrapped up its successful stay at the Cabo Collegiate Invitational in Los Cabos, Mexico, by shooting 29-under (272-278-273) and placing third following Tuesday's final round at the Cove Club.
"I'm really proud of our team," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "Coming back from a disappointing week at the Watersound Invitational, it was great to see how our guys responded to that and to the challenge of playing in one of the top fields in the country, and bouncing back from that."
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup strung together another good performance, tying for fifth with an 11-under 202 (68-67-67). The native of Demark shot three consecutive rounds in the 60s to lead the way for Florida State once again. It marks his third Top 5 finish in his last four tournaments played.
"Frederik comes in and shoots a 68, 67, 67, and is becoming one of our team leaders lately. He's making that transition from being a freshman to being a leader on our team, and it's definitely needed," Jones added.
Vanderbilt won the Cabo Collegiate Invitational at 32-under, while Texas Tech was the runner-up at 30-under.
Fellow sophomore Brett Roberts shot an 8-under 205 (68-68-69) and also recorded all three of his rounds in the 60s, tying for 10th. Roberts' game continues to ascend as he looks to back up his freshman All-America campaign in 2020-21. Roberts' average score of 2.73 on par 3 holes ranked first among all the competing golfers.
"Brett Roberts is starting to find his form a lot more, with a good finish at Mobile and now a good finish here," Jones said. "Again, he had three straight rounds in the 60s. That's going to springboard Brett to being the player we know he can be."
Senior Daniel Bradbury shot his lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday at 67, producing a 7-under 206 (68-71-67). He tied for 12th.
Playing as an individual, freshman and Tallahassee native Patrick McCann tied for 24th with a 5-under 208 (68-69-71).

Men's Golf Takes Commanding Lead at All-American Intercollegiate.
March 21, 2022
HUMBLE, Texas - A dominant second round where 28th-ranked Florida State Men's Golf shot 15-under has the Seminoles out to a 17-stroke lead through two rounds of play at the All-American Intercollegiate held at the Golf Club of Houston.
Florida State's second-round score at 15-under was tied for its lowest round shot vs. par this year. It ties the final round the Seminoles produced in the season-opening Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, which they won. Overall, FSU shot 7-under (296-273) on the day.
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup is tied for the tournament lead at 3-under (72-69), going neck-and-neck with Sam Houston's Bret Gray. Kjettrup is in line for his fifth Top 10 finish this year as he continues to emerge as one of collegiate golf's most talented players. Aiding his big day was a furious finish on the back nine in the second round where he shot a 32, including four consecutive birdies on holes 12-15.
Redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson tied his career-low with a 66 in the second round on Monday, tying for third through two rounds with a 2-under 142 (76-66). Following his first round, Anderson moved up 31 spots and shot an incredible 30 on his front nine. Anderson's 66 ties his first round ever as a Seminole at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sept. 15, 2019.
Senior Dan Bradbury (1-under) also ended strong with a 67 in the second round, the third time he has shot a 67 this year. His second round was highlighted by five birdies, including two straight to begin the round on holes 1 and 2.
Michael Sakane (1-over) is tied for 11th and Brett Roberts is tied for 43rd at 7-over.
The next closest team to the Seminoles
is Houston at 10-over, followed by North Texas (+11), Sam Houston (+11) and Mississippi State (+15) in the Top five.
March 22, 2022
HUMBLE, Texas - Florida State Men's Golf picked up its second win of the spring season as it won the All-American Intercollegiate held at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
Holding a large 17-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round, play was canceled as inclement weather forced the tournament to end after two rounds. Through that point, the Seminoles shot 7-under, with the next closest team and second-place finishers North Texas and Houston being at 10-over.
"The afternoon round yesterday was one of the best rounds I have had the opportunity to be a part of," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "Playing a PGA TOUR golf course with rain and winds gusting to 35 mph was enough to keep your attention on every shot. The guys had a great attitude in preparation and throughout the day. They did a great job of accepting the challenge and competing. I know we are headed in the right direction, gaining confidence and developing our own identity."
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup earns his first tournament title, sharing the All-American Intercollegiate championship with Sam Houston's Bret Gray. Kjettrup shot 3-under (72-69) through two rounds of play.
Three Seminoles finished in the Top 5 in Kjettrup, redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson (T3, 6-under) and senior Dan Bradbury (T5, 1-under).
"If anyone has worked hard enough to get an individual win, it's Freddy," Jones added. "He won the team hard work award after the fall season and is playing consistently at a really high level. It's great to see when someone does the right things and gets rewarded with a win. I have no doubt he will win more.
"I felt before the tournament that Cole was close to playing really well. Shooting 30 on nine holes I didn't see from anyone out there. A bogey free 66 and tied for third finish may be just what he needs as we finish the season."
Michael Sakane tied for 11th at 1-under (74-71), while Brett Roberts tied for 43rd at 7-over.
Florida State blew away the field on par 4 and par 5 holes. FSU's par 4 scoring collectively was 8-over, nine shots better than Sam Houston (+17) and North Texas (+17). The Seminoles shot 9-under on par 5 scoring.
Jones picks up his 32nd career win as head coach at FSU. He entered the year as one of just 15 NCAA Division I men's golf coaches to reach the career 30-win mark.

Men's Golf in Fourth Place at Valspar.
March 28, 2022
PALM CITY, Fla. - No. 26 Florida State Men's Golf is aiming for another strong finish, shooting 9-under (274-285) through the first two rounds at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational to sit in fourth place with one round remaining on Tuesday.
The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. for all golfers on Tuesday. FSU trails only 10th-ranked Pepperdine (-28), No. 6 Arizona State (-14) and fourth-ranked North Carolina (-12).
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup continues to be FSU's No. 1 golfer, tying for eighth through two rounds after shooting 6-under (64-72). Kjettrup's opening-round 64 (-7) was the lowest round shot by a Seminole since he also shot a 64 last year in the Valspar on March 16, 2021.
Only Seminole legends Jack Maguire and John Pak along with Kjettrup have shot multiple rounds at 64 or lower at FSU, an impressive club that Kjettrup joins just in his second year of play.
Michael Sakane was productive in the first few rounds, recording a 3-under (71-68) to tie for 21st. Through his 36 holes played, Sakane recorded nine birdies, including a stretch in the second round where he had three consecutive on holes 6-8.
Although not counting toward FSU's team score, freshman Patrick McCann is at even par (72-70) to tie for 30th overall as he plays as an individual. His front-nine score of 34 in the second round highlighted his day as he continues to enjoy a fine freshman season.
Dan Bradbury (E) and Cole Anderson (E) are also tied for 30th at even
par. Sophomore Brett Roberts is 4-over and Gray Albright is 9-over in his FSU debut.
March 29, 2022
PALM CITY, Fla. - In just his second year, Florida State Men's Golfer Freddie Kjettrup achieved a feat that no other Seminole has accomplished as FSU finished in second place at 20-under (274-285-273) in Tuesday's final round at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational held at Floridian Golf Club.
The native of Aabybro, Denmark, recorded a final-round 64 and shot 13-under (64-72-64) en route to his runner-up finish. Kjettrup becomes the first Seminole to shoot three rounds at 64 or lower in a career, hitting the mark in just his 17th tournament played.
Ironically, all three rounds have come at The Valspar Collegiate Invitational, including two this week and one last season.
The Seminoles recorded their fifth Top-3 finish in their last six tournaments played, continuing their strong spring season run. Collectively, FSU's final round at 11-under was the lowest of any team on Tuesday, providing more momentum as the Seminoles prepare for their next tournament at the Old Waverly Collegiate held in West Point, Miss., on April 11-12.
Kjettrup has shot under par in seven of his last nine rounds, totaling seven birdies on Tuesday and no bogeys. A pair of 64s in his first and third rounds proved his dominance at this week's tournament, falling by just one stroke to champion Dylan Menante of Pepperdine (14-under).
Kjettrup is now the 17th-ranked golfer in the country according to Golfstat.
The Seminoles trailed only Pepperdine (34-under) atop the leaderboard.
"We knew going in that this was one of the toughest fields we would see all year," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "Once again, we played well enough to win. But we don't always have control of that part. We had a gutsy round today - shooting the low round of the day after a 36-hole, 12-hour day yesterday.
"Everyone was tired but stepped up when we needed them. It shows more about them as competitors than golfers. I'm extremely proud of all of them as it was a total team effort."
Cole Anderson raised his game in the final round, tying for 17th after shooting a 68 on Tuesday. Anderson went 3-under (68-74-68) for the tournament, recording three birdies and no bogeys.
"Cole is really starting to play well," Jones added. "He was bogey free in the first and third rounds which were clutch for us."
Michael Sakane (2-under) tied for 22nd after a final-round 72. Freshman Patrick McCann, playing as an individual, finished 36th at 1-over.
Brett Roberts was bolstered by a round of 69 on Tuesday.
"Brett played well other than a short stretch of holes yesterday afternoon. He's just starting to realize how good he can be," Jones said.
Dan Bradbury tied for 37th at 2-over while Gray Albright tied for 68th and shot his best round of the tournament at 72 on Tuesday.
Florida State's 42 total birdies rank third among all teams competing at The Valspar. FSU joins only Pepperdine in shooting under par collectively on its par 4 holes, shooting 2-under. Kjettrup ranks fourth among all players shooting 4-under in par 4 scoring.

April 11, 2022
WEST POINT, Miss. - The 18th-ranked Florida State Men's Golf Team is tied for 16th at the Mossy Oak Collegiate through nearly two rounds of play at the Mossy Oak Golf Course hosted by Mississippi State.

Florida State is 18-over after shooting 17-over through the first round, but has improved greatly by being just 1-over so far in the second. Florida State's five starters have between 3-4 holes left in the second round.
Vanderbilt leads all schools at 16-under in the tournament.
Frederik Kjettrup (+3) and Michael Sakane (+3) each are tied for 50th to lead the Seminoles. Kjettrup shot an uncharacteristic 77 in the opening round but is trending toward a round under par in the second.

After finishing in third place, the Seminoles will face No. 2 Georgia Tech in the ACC match-play semifinals on Sunday.
Sakane had a perfect front nine, with three birdies and no bogeys. It was his best front nine performance of the three rounds and turned out to be a crucial aspect for the Seminoles.
After shooting a 3-under par 33 on the front, Sakane continued his tremendous play and turned around three consecutive birdies on the back-nine, securing the Seminoles' spot in Sunday's match play. Sakane shot 4-under on par 4's for the day, and 1-under on par 5's. He finished with a 5-under par 67 and tied for 13th.

Seminoles in Eighth at NCAA Men's Golf Regional.
May 16, 2022
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Playing on a PGA Tour-level golf course at PGA National Resort, fourth-seeded Florida State Men's Golf weathered some first-day challenges to shoot 9-over in the opening round and end the day in eighth at the NCAA Regional in Palm Beach Gardens.
Only one team in third-ranked Vanderbilt finished under par in the first round at 3-under. The Seminoles trail second-place USF (+2), Notre Dame (+4), Davidson (+5), Florida (+6), College of Charleston (+6) and Little Rock (+7).
Redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson played big for FSU on Monday, shooting a 1-over 73 as he sits in a tie for 15th. He picked up an eagle on the par-5, 556-yard 18th hole as he shot a 34 through his first nine holes. Anderson added two more birdies on the front nine, but a triple bogey-bogey-bogey finish stymied what could have been the overall lead at the NCAA Regional.
Anderson took advantage of the course's par-5 holes, shooting 3-under to rank among the best in the field.
Sophomore Brett Roberts continued to swing well, carding a 2-over 74 as he is tied for 22nd. A tough back nine on holes 10-18 had him making the turn with a 39, but he picked things up on the front nine with three birdies and a 35.
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup (3-over) and senior Michael Sakane (3-over) each posted respectable opening-round scores on a difficult golf course. They are tied for 33rd in the tournament.
Senior Dan Bradbury closed his first round with a 5-over 77, but finished with a birdie on the par-4, 404-yard ninth hole.
The Seminoles were among the better teams in par 5 scoring on Monday, combining to shoot 11-under.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The fourth-seeded Florida State Men's Golf Team impressed the field on Tuesday, shooting the low round of the day at 9-under and climbing six spots to second place in the second round of the NCAA Men's Golf Regional held at PGA National Resort.
After starting the day in eighth place, the Seminoles collectively played some of their finest golf of the season. After having FSU's high round yesterday, senior transfer Dan Bradbury fired a 5-under 67 in the second round which included a back-nine 33 and six total birdies to just one bogey.
Bradbury enters Wednesday's final round tied for 11th and six shots off the lead of Kieron van Wyk of College of Charleston, who is at 6-under. Bradbury climbed 35 spots on Tuesday.
The round is extra fulfilling for Bradbury after having to miss the ACC Men's Golf Championship in Panama City a few weeks ago due to illness.
"It was a really impressive round today, and actually the past 27 holes we've played exceptionally well," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. "We couldn't have gotten off to a worse start yesterday, and the fact that they finished the round yesterday like they did gave us an opportunity to go out and play a great round today. And they did that."
The Seminoles have put themselves in strong position to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Championship. The Top 5 teams in the Palm Beach Regional's 14-team field will advance to the NCAA Finals.
"This is one of the hardest golf courses that I've ever seen," Jones added. "Fortunately the wind laid down a little bit today early on and let us get something going. Once these guys got some confidence it was really impressive to watch them play and see them gain confidence as they went forward. We came here with a task and that task certainly is not complete at this point. Even if you play a good round or a great round, you're walking to the next tee and you have to approach it in that manner."
Vanderbilt leads the field by a good margin at 9-under, followed by FSU (even par), Florida (+2), USF (+6) and College of Charleston (+10). ACC counterpart Notre Dame is in sixth place at 12-over.
Sophomore Brett Roberts was sharp once again, carding a second-round 68 while being FSU's overall leader at 2-under and in a tie for sixth. With FSU teeing off on the first hole on Tuesday, Roberts joined Bradbury in getting off to a strong start on the front nine with a 33. Roberts added six birdies in the second round with one double bogey.
Redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson has enjoyed a strong performance in South Florida, shooting a 1-under 71 on Tuesday and being in a tie for 11th alongside Bradbury at even par. Anderson had four birdies total. A key sequence came at the start of the back nine when he birdied the 10th hole but then had consecutive bogeys on the 11th and 12th holes. From there, he was steady with six straight pars to finish the round.
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup jumped seven spots on Tuesday to 26th, shooting a 1-over 73 in the second round. Kjettrup is 4-over for the tournament.
Michael
Sakane is tied for 51st at 10-over.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - A two-round flourish over the last two days allowed Florida State Men's Golf to cruise into the NCAA Championship, finishing second at 8-under (297-279-280) at the NCAA Men's Golf Regional held at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
The Top 5 finish means the Seminoles will participate in their 27th NCAA Championship and their second in as many years beginning next Friday, May 27, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Adding to the heavy dose of good news is sophomore Brett Roberts shooting an overall score of 7-under (74-68-67) to win the NCAA Palm Beach Regional title amongst 80 competitors. Roberts becomes the fourth Seminole to win an NCAA Regional and the first since Drew Kittleson won the NCAA Central Regional on May 22, 2010.
The victory for Roberts marks his first as a Seminole.
"This was a true team effort this week," FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said after helping the Seminoles to their 10th NCAA Championship under his watch. "I'm really comfortable going out there knowing we have five guys, and then our sixth guy in Patrick McCann, who we can call on at any point in time."
After recording the lowest team score in the second round, FSU almost accomplished the same feat in Wednesday's final round. The Seminoles combined to shoot 8-under on the day as Roberts took command with a 5-under 67 on Wednesday. The Coral Springs, Fla., native delivered five birdies and an eagle, which came on the par-5, 545-yard 10th hole.
The par-5 10th hole was kind to the Seminoles. FSU registered nine birdies and an eagle in 10 of its last 11 trips to the 10th hole.
Roberts' round was punctuated by a final birdie on the 18th hole, another par-5 that he took advantage of to help give him a two-stroke cushion.
Roberts joins Kittleson as well as Christian Raynor (1995 East Regional) and David Beck (1989 East Regional) among Seminoles whom have won NCAA Regionals.
Over the last two rounds, the Seminoles combined to shoot 17-under to pull out from eighth place to a runner-up spot on a very difficult course. Senior transfer Dan Bradbury earned a Top 10 finish in eighth, shooting 2-under overall (77-67-70).
The Wakefield, England, native was strong once again in his final round, scoring three straight birdies early in the round to set the tone for another big day.
"When you look at things - Dan (Bradbury) coming off an emergency appendectomy during the ACC Championship, and who had not played tournament golf in over five weeks...The way he played really was impressive."
Redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson got the job done this week, tying for 19th at 3-over (73-71-75). Anderson recorded three birdies in his final round and provided the Seminoles a vital boost as one of three to finish in the Top 20.
"Cole Anderson is playing as well as anyone in the country. Just a couple big holes or Cole would have had a chance to win this golf tournament."
Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup had an eagle in his final round on the par-5, 538-yard third hole and placed 27th at 5-over (75-73-73). Senior Michael Sakane produced his best round of the regional on Wednesday, tying for 32nd at 8-over and shooting a 70.
The Seminoles walloped the par-5 holes all week, combining to shoot 35-under with an average score of 4.42. Roberts shot 10-under in par-5 scoring, tied for the third-lowest in the field.
Vanderbilt won the tournament title after shooting 20-under. Behind FSU and advancing in the Top 5 were Florida (-2), USF (+12) and College of Charleston (+14).
