"John Mark, Coach Brogle's son, was too young to be on the team, but we must have wanted him to be in the picture with his dad.
"That was the squad that went to Notre Dame for a dual meet against the Irish the morning before the first FSU-Notre Dame football game. At the end of the season (Metro Conference, NCAA Region, NCAA National) we were running a different seven--Herb Wills, Larry Greene, Philip Rolle, Doug Overfelt, Marc Trigg, Scott Taylor, and Ronnie Treadway.
"The photo was taken with a pocket instamatic right after the race at the Notre Dame golf course, but I don't recall who was holding the camera. We had just put up a perfect 15-point score against ND on their home course, so we were enjoying life."
