One of the finest pitchers in collegiate softball history, Lacey Waldrop became FSU's all-time wins leader with 109 over her career and was among FSU's all-time top five in four different categories -
total wins, appearances (170-2nd), strikeouts (917-3rd), and saves (7-4th). The 2014 USA Softball National Player of the Year, Waldrop was a three-time All-American, two-time ACC Pitcher of the Year (2014-15) and three-time All-ACC. Waldrop had immediate success as a freshman, posting a 19-5 record and an ACC-leading 1.33 ERA. As a sophomore in 2013, she repeated as an All-ACC team selection and was 24-10, and her 1.53 ERA once again led the conference. Her historic junior season saw her lead the nation with an FSU record 38 wins. She ranked in the Top 25 nationally in ERA, strikeouts and shutouts and allowed more than one earned run in just 10 of her 48 appearances on the season. In addition to her remarkable stats as a senior hat include a 28-7 record, 1.;52 ERA with 232 strikeouts, she earned her third NFCA All-America honor and was named the 2015 national CLASS Award winner for her achievements on and off the field. March 9, 2026 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State softball will retire Lacey Waldrop's jersey this Friday, March 13, 2026, before the ACC home opener against Syracuse. Waldrop will join Darby Cottle and Jessica van der Linden as the only FSU softball players to have their jersey retired. The 2025 FSU Hall of Fame inductee was one of greatest pitchers in collegiate softball history. Waldrop is FSU's all-time career wins leader with 109 and is among FSU's all-time top five in four different categories - total wins, appearances, strikeouts, and saves.
