Tallahassee's own Bryan Henry is one of the finest pitchers in the storied history of Florida State baseball. A semifinalist for the 2007 Roger Clemens Award, he was named a First Team All-American
and the ACC Pitcher of the Year as a senior. Henry became the first Seminole ever voted first team All-ACC for three seasons, and he posted a career record of 32-9 with an ERA of 2.60. He pitched 322.1 innings for the Seminoles, striking out 273 with only 75 walks, and opponents averaged just .231 against him over his career. Henry had a 14-game winning streak during his senior season in which he led the nation in wins (13) over the regular season and became just the eighth pitcher since FSU joined the ACC in 1992 to record 13 wins in a season. In 2005, his sophomore campaign surged after beating two top-seven teams. He finished his first year at FSU with a 9-3 record. The next season, he continued his dominance with a 9-4 record, a stingy 2.88 ERA, and a memorable steak of 27 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, again securing First Team All-ACC honors. Henry was drafted in the 12th round by Arizona, where he played professionally for seven seasons. |
