Editor's Note: Millie Usher was the FSU Head Women's Basketball Coach in
1975 and 1976. Dr. Mildred Marie Usher Obituary Published by Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Dr. Mildred "Millie" Marie Usher III, 83, of Perkinston, MS, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, in Gulfport, MS. Millie was a dedicated member of the Clermont Harbor Methodist Church and also held membership at Wiggins Methodist Church. She was born in New Orleans LA, and grew up in Clermont Harbor. Millie graduated from Bay High School and furthered her education at Pearl River Community College, the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree, and Florida State University, where she received her PhD. Throughout her career, she taught at several schools, including Picayune High School, William Carey University, Georgetown University, Florida State University, and Bainbridge College. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, August F. Usher, Sr. and Mildred O'Farrell Usher; her brother, August F. Usher II; and many other relatives. She is survived by her six sisters: Ina Day, Loi Koller, Tien
Neicase, Kawn Richard, Deci Morgan, and Yun Thomson, as well as numerous
friends on both sides of the pond. |
