Lisa's life has ended
way too soon. But her song plays on in the gardens and relationships she
nurtured.
Her 40-year marriage to Paul Bryson was a life partnership few
are lucky to experience. Paul's devotion to Lisa throughout their marriage
and during her illness was unwavering and beautiful to behold.
Lisa also
leaves behind her son, Cody Bryson; her sister by marriage, Nedra Wilson;
her sister by marriage, Wanda Wells; her niece and nephews, Kate Wilson,
Nigel Wilson, Aaron Wells, and Stuart Wells; "Team Lisa," which included
Pat, Sally, Peggy, Mandy, Tammy, and Penny; and many other family and
friends who are saddened by her passing. Lisa's parents, Herbert Andrew
Wallace and Megan Beam Heidt, predeceased her.

Asheville, N.C. Working alongside her mother in Megan's day care center,
Lisa cultivated her ethic for hard work, organization, and perseverance.
She went on to enjoy her years in women's college athletics as part of the
first women's basketball team at UNC-Asheville and women's volleyball teams
at UNCA, Florida State, and Appalachian State.

Raleigh in 1976, where she worked for the City of Raleigh, Parks and

last years with the city, Lisa became the driving force in planning and
building the state-of-the-art Marsh Creek Greenhouse and was honored at the

year, Lisa received the City of Raleigh's Environmental Award in the
"Legacy" category for her "...33 years beautifying Raleigh, creating more
sustainable landscapes, educating other, and advocating for the
environment. Lisa's success can be attributed to her passion for her work,
her persistence and enthusiasm. She has left an enduring legac Although
they spent most of their adult lives in the Triangle area, the mountains
always called to Lisa and Paul. They enjoyed being part of the Lake
Glenville community for many years and more recently have been crafting
their mountain retirement home on land near Weaverville, N.C.

her life, Lisa treasured her deep relationships with family, friends,
co-workers, and pets. She never lost her spunk or sass and will be

everyone who knew her.
