Swiger, Paul V., 74, of Brandon, died Tuesday (July 7, 1998) at Arbors of Brandon. Born in Tucson, Ariz., he moved to the Tampa area in 1952 from Tallahassee. He was a teacher at Dowdell Junior High, Tampa, and Tomlin Junior High, Plant City. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brandon. He was a former member of Sons of the Confederacy and an alumnus of Florida State University and Appalachian State University. Survivors include his wife, Roberta S.; two daughters, Paula Walls, La Porte, Texas, and Carol Morris, Douglasville, Ga.; a brother Phillip, San Jose, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
