Obituary for William Henley Cross

Cross, 55, of Starkville, Miss., died April 9 in Mexico as a result of
gunshot wounds.
A native of Baker County, Ga., he had lived in
Tallahassee for most of his life. He was a research entomologist with the
United States Department of Agriculture in Starkville, Miss., and an
adjunct professor with biological sciences and entomology at Mississippi
State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member
of Lion's International, Entomological Society of America and the National
Audubon Society.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Harrison Cross of
Starkville, Miss.; two daughters, Mary Jane Everett of Gieger, Ala., and
Betty Joyce Blatner of Pullman, Wash.; three sons, Murray, David Carlisle
and Patrick Cross, all of Starkville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester M.
Cross of Tallahassee; two sisters, Betty Hagan of Tampa and Jane Cartledge
of Broken Arrow, Ala.; and a brother, Nicholas Cross of Davis, Calif.
