Mark Anthony Sorel Obituary. Published on findagrave.com. Mark Antony Sorel, age 63, born June 28, 1957, passed away on January 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Johannes Sorel, his mother, Isabella Sorel, and his brother, Ian Sorel. He is survived by his brother, Robert Sorel, his sister-in-law, Marie Carpenter Sorel (Ian), his nephew, Zak Sorel, and many other cherished friends and relatives. Mark grew up in Myrtle Grove where he graduated from Escambia High School. He attended Pensacola Junior College and went on to Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Though a Seminole, Mark came back to Pensacola and completed his education at University of West Florida, receiving a BS in Management. As a young teen, Mark was a natural in racing dirt bikes and bowling. He had a love for running, cycling, and competing in events. But early on, the one sport that became his forever passion was Golf. He was good! Unable to devote the time to Pro Golf, he excelled in the Amateurs. He was surrounded by great local talent and was honored to play next to them. He was a charter member of McGuire's Irish Pub Runners and a member of the Seville Quarter Milers and Capt'n Fun Runners. Mark was the owner of Sorel Marble and Tile where he made numerous friends of clients and others in the construction trade. Upon a semi-retirement from his business, he "threw" one of the largest routes for the Pensacola News Journal covering the west side, NAS, and Corry Stations. He was proud of his precision tile work but even more proud to please his paper route customers with precise placement of their paper. For Mark, a great day
was anything from watching FSU to watching the Blue Angels on Bayou Grande;
playing a game of Golf to seeing his favorite bands play. He loved the
little things as well as the big. He loved and cared for animals whether
his own or the kitties, rabbits, chickens, ducks, or the big goose on his
paper route. Most of all, he loved his friends. If he saw you, that was the
difference between a great day and a perfect day. He was a saint to
animals, and a friend to all. |
