Obituary for Michael Hillegas Published in The Daily Freeman on October 27, 2011 Michael Hillegas, of the Town of Ulster, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at his residence. He is survived by his beloved family - his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth; his son, David and his wife Jennifer of Seattle, Wash.; his daughter, Deborah of West Hartford, Conn.; his grandson, Joshua; his sister, Ann Holmes of Corolla, N.C.; his mother-in-law. Elizabeth Riewerts. He is survived by his siblings-in-law, Margaret Kaplen, Henry Riewerts and Barbara Kwiecinski, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Bennethum and Florence Hillegas. Mr. Hillegas was born in Elmira and grew up in Camp Hill, Pa. and was a graduate of Florida State University. He had served in the U.S. Navy for three years and had been employed by Tarkett, Inc. |
