Lucy Mary Moody Obituary.
Published by tbo.com, Tampa, Fla., on Feb 10, 2004.

Rev. Lucy Mary Moody, 54, went peacefully to join her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2004 after a valiant and inspiring 3 year struggle with cancer. She proudly served as associate pastor at Rainbow Promise MCC (RPMCC) in Lakeland for the past 2-1/2 years since returning to Avon Park after graduating from Candler Seminary at Emory University in Atlanta. Lucy was best known for her gentle and giving spirit and her love of nature, which culminated with her memorable 3 week trip to Alaska last summer, provided lovingly by her RPMCC congregation. Lucy was the only child of Mary and Jack Moody and was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended North Florida Community College, received her Bachelor's degree at Florida State university and attended graduate school at University of Central Florida. When first moving to Avon Park in the mid-80's, Lucy changed careers from teaching and coaching to Physical Therapy Assistant work at both Walker Memorial and Highlands Regional Hospitals before traveling for Florida Medical Systems (later named Rehab Management Systems), where she continued to work until her decision to seek her Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology. Lucy's surviving blood relatives are: cousins, Tim Williams of Lakeland, Charles Williams and Isabelle Kirk of Jacksonville. Although Lucy was predeceased by both of her parents, she is survived by her extended "family of choice" caregivers Grace, Nancy and Barb, along with a multitude of lifelong friends, fellow Candler seminarians, and the loving and supportive members of RPMCC.
