Donald West Jaicks age 85, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, after a long illness. Born in Oak Park, IL, he came here in the late 1950's. He retired as general manager of Belk Lindsey at Central Plaza. He was a dedicated community volunteer. He graduated from Missouri Military Academy and attended Southern Methodist University V-12 Naval Aviation Cadet program and Florida State University where he was a member of the swim team. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan; his daughter, Barbara (Mark) Atkins, St. Pete Beach; his son, Stanley (Yvonne) Jaicks, Annapolis, MD; and five beautiful grandchildren- Jake, Nicholas, Caroline, Joelle, and Leah.
