Herald on Dec. 17, 1989, page 14A. Charles Daniel Blackshear Sr, 58,
died Saturday. A native of Blakely, Mr. Blackshear had resided at Albany
most of his life. He was a former president of the Albany Board of
Realtors, president of the Georgia Association of Realtors in 1974, Realtor
of the Year of the Georgia Association of Realtors in 1972 and president of
the National Association of Real Estate License Law Officials in 1978.
A
member of the Georgia Real Estate Commission for 16 years, Mr. Blackshear
served as chairman 14 years and was a member of the Citizens and Southern
National Bank of Albany's advisory board of directors. He was a member of
Porterfield Memorial Methodist Church and was associated with the Red
Cross.
Survivors include his wife, Patrcia Heath Blackshear of Albany; a
daughter, Bonny Blackshear Dorough of Albany; a son, Charles Daniel
Blackshear Jr. of Albany; his father, Charles Blackshear of Albany; and a
sister, Mary Ann Oakes of Albany.
