Robert E. "Bob" Greene Obituary

Robert E. ("Bob") Greene passed peacefully on December 16th, 2017 in Stuart, FL at the age of 88. His life was significantly marked by the love of family, his firm belief in Jesus Christ and his strong work ethic.

Bob was a native of Stuart, born to the late H.J. Greene and Cecia Mae Stuart Greene on November 12, 1928. He graduated from Stuart High School before attending Florida State University where he received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, was a founding member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity, and a member of the Florida State Men's Volleyball team. After Graduating from FSU, he married his sweetheart, Bobbie, in 1952. They lived their married life in the Stuart where Bob owned and operated the family store, Greene's Department Store of Stuart.

An active member of our local community, Bob was in the Kiwanis Club, former Mayor and City Commissioner of Stuart, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stuart. Bob loved traveling and all forms of sports and recreation. During his retirement, he and Bobbie enjoyed their home on Glory Mountain in Bryson City, NC.

Bob was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his three children, Debra Allen (Chip), Gary Greene (Bonnie) and Janet Greene; his grandchildren, Elise Regan (Chris), Jared Greene (Allison), Leah Greene, Paige Loringer (AJ), Haisley Blankenship, Thad Blankenship, Susan Carpino (Bill) and Dawn Williamson; his great grandchildren Dalton and Reece Regan, Autumn Greene, Kinley Allen, Kenedy Carpino, and Skylar and Avery Williamson; his sister, Minnie Wells, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents H.J. Greene and Cecia Mae Stuart Greene, his sister, Lurline Richardson, infant son, Terry John Greene, and his grandson, Heath L. Corley.
