Dale Dean McMahan Obituary. Published by The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La. on Nov 19,
2017. Dale closed the last chapter of his life peacefully at home with
his wife and son by his side on November 4, 2017. Dale was born in Fremont,
Nebraska, on August 10, 1940. His family settled in Pensacola Florida,
where he cherished fond memories of the beach, fishing and good friends.
Following graduation from Pensacola High School, he served in the USAF and
was stationed in Istanbul, Turkey. He went on to receive degrees from
Florida State, where he also played baseball, before moving to Baton Rouge
to pursue a post graduate degree at LSU. He served in various capacities
including Dean Of Students at Louisiana State School for the Deaf.
Following this he worked in investments and sales. Dale enriched our lives
with his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. He was an avid reader,
creative writer and a huge Tiger fan. Survived by his wife Janet Blanchard
McMahan; son, Christopher; sister, Vicki Williams (Phil) of Tallahassee and
special cousin Sherry Eary of Fremont, NE. and his feline companion, Beau.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul Emmanuel and Leona Kortum McMahan;
and a brother, Jimmy McMahan.
