Robert Lee Waff, 76, of Panama City Beach and Tallahassee died at his home Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

Robert was born March 29, 1930, in Williston. He attended school at Robert Lee High, where he was active in musicals and football. After serving in the United States Navy, he was later recruited by the Florida State University football team.

The years that followed led Robert to the Tallahassee Fire Department, where after 33 years he retired as captain. During this time he also built and owned Waff Construction Co.

Robert was a wonderful, kind, giving, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Annette; four daughters, Elaine Wesson, Joan Bennett, Jean Gilhooley and Rebecca Toner; eight grandchildren; five gret-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Dorothy Waff, and a brother, Richard Waff.
