W. Donald Ellers of Woodstock, a captain in the Marietta Police Department, was killed Wednesday morning when his racing boat, going about 100 miles per hour, overturned on Lake Allatoona. He was 42.

Surviving are his wife, Sherri Lee Ellers of Woodstock; a son, William Donald Ellers Jr. of Woodstock; a daughter Suzanne Ellers of Woodstock; his mother. Lola Frasure Ellers of Woodstock; a brother, Edward Terry Ellers of Woodstock; and a sister, Debbie Ellers of Woodstock.
