Edward William McGillivray, 81 years old, died in Morton Hospital on Monday evening, March 21, 2016. He was born in Boston, son of the late Edward and Anna (Klim) McGillivray and was a resident of North Dighton and Belmont, NH. Ed and his wife Lucille (Brunelle) McGillivray celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August. Prior to his retirement he was the Metrology Lab Manager at Raytheon Company in Waltham and North Dighton. He was a past member of the Dighton Finance Committee and the Dighton Lions Club and a past president of Sargent Lake Association in Belmont, NH. Ed was a graduate of Stoughton High School and attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. He was a US Army veteran, having served at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Besides his wife, Lucille, Ed is survived by four children, Pamela Lafferty and her husband Michael of Canton, Kevin McGillivray and his wife Sharon of North Reading, David McGillivray of Mendon and Nancy Morrison and her husband Daniel of Terrell, NC. Papa Big Ed adored his six grandchildren, Mark McGillivray of NYC, Matthew McGillivray of Hampton, NH, Elizabeth Morrison and Erik Morrison of Terrell, NC, Alyssa McGillivray of Milford, MA and Erin McGillivray of North Reading. He was the brother of Joan Ryan of San Diego, CA.
