Colonel Clynch Newsome, Jr., USMC (Ret) passed away on July 27th. He was a
graduate of Andrew Jackson High School (class of 1949) and also held
degrees from Florida State University (BS), University of North Florida (BS
& MAT), Rollins College (MBA) and Stetson University (JD). He was preceded
in death by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Bonnie McDaniel
Newsome and is survived by his sister, Cadelia Brown; a daughter, Kelly
King (Jeff); a son, LtCol Stephen Newsome, USMC; and two grandchildren,
Eleanor and Casey King. He was a decorated veteran of both the Korean and
Vietnam wars as well as a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite
and Morocco Shrine Temple. Additionally, he enjoyed a membership at Ponte
Vedra Inn and Club.
