Edward John Quigley Obituary. Published by findagrave.com. E. J. Quigley, 85, of Marianna died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his residence in Marianna. Born in Mississippi, E.J. moved to Panama City at an early age where he graduated from Bay High School in 1943. Upon graduation he joined the Army Air Force and became a pilot, in 1946 he obtained his commercial pilot licenses. He then attended the Panama City branch of the University of Florida and played on the first football team that was created by the legislature combining the branch campus and the Florida State College for Women, which was later to become F.S.U. He transferred to the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity and he graduated with a degree in Physical Education. Upon returning home, he married Barbara Jean Dunn, and in 1957 they had a son, Scott. E.J. worked at Cook-Whitehead Ford in Panama City from the early 1950s, where he won awards as a salesman, until 1971, when he joined McCaskill Motor Co. in Marianna and formed McCaskill-Quigley Ford. He was joined by Will Rogers in 1980, and the name was changed to Chipola Ford. In 2000, he retired to become a gentleman farmer. E.J. was always an active outdoorsman, and he loved fishing and bird hunting, where his marksmanship was well known, and enjoyed training his bird dogs. Survivors include
his son, Scott and his wife, Janet of Marianna; grandson, Steven D. Quigley
of Marianna; two brothers, William Bill Quigley, of Panama City, Joseph
Quigley of West Palm Beach; sister, Joann; step-sister Boots Spivey of
