Jacob Danny Mady, 87, of Fleming Island, FL passed away April 4, 2014. Mr. Mady was the youngest of 4 children born to Jacob and Anna Sydor Mady. He was born on May 20, 1926 in Mishawaka, IN and graduated Mishawaka High School. Later, he attended Florida State University. He played football in college and went semi-pro in Baseball and was also an avid golfer. He loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Mr. Mady married the love of his life, Dorothy Helen Ganser, on December 30, 1950 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN. He honorably served his nation in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. After WWII ended, he was one of the first Marines to go into Japan. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5968 and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Mady was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 siblings: Mary, Frank, and Walter; his daughter, Anne Artlip; and a son, Christopher Mady. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Helen Mady; 3 sons: Dan Mady (Dorothy), Eric Mady, and Thomas Mady (Rita); 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
