Stanley J. Ziobrowski, 87, passed away Tuesday August 22, 2023.

Stan was born in Schenectady the son of the late Edmund and Winifred Ziobrowski and was a lifelong area resident. He worked for 38 years as the Transportation Supervisor at Mohonasen School District in Rotterdam. Stan leaves behind his wife, 6 children (3 daughters and 3 sons), 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 brothers.

Stan was infected with the game of golf at the age of 6 and it has been the central preoccupation of his life. He started working at The Edison Club when he was 11, caddying and shagging balls and played so well as a young man he earned a golf scholarship to Florida State. Upon returning from Florida, Stan joined Ballston Spa Country Club as a Junior member in 1952 to qualify to play in Saratoga County tournaments. His best score is a 66 that he scored in the 1960's and he has 11 holes in 1's to his credit. One of his fondest memories on the links was playing a 13-year-old Jack Nicklaus when Stan was 16, "The Golden Bear" getting the better of him that day. Nicklaus even mentioned the round in his 1997 autobiography.
